Statuses represented in both tax filings and tax filing events.
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
pending | Check is in the process of creating the tax return for the company. |
submitted | Check has submitted the tax return to the respective agency. |
filed | The return has been acknowledged by the agency as filed. In most cases this is a terminal state and indicates that the filing was successful. However, there are cases when a filed return can move to a rejected or amendment_required state. |
rejected | The agency cannot/does not accept the tax return. A refiled return is necessary to remedy the issue. This is a terminal state if a refile is not requested. |
amendment_required | Check has identified or has been told that the original return needs to be amended. This state always leads back to pending when Check begins to amend the returns |
